Those living permanently in a CHSLD are subject to the Financial Contribution Program for Accommodated Adults in accordance with the rules established by the Québec Ministère de la santé et des services sociaux. This program is managed by the Régie de l'assurance-maladie du Québec (RAMQ). Residents contribute according to rates set by RAMQ on the basis of information provided by the resident or his/her representative. The financial services officer and admission staff can provide further information on the financial contribution.
On your arrival, we ask you to pay for your first month's stay in advance. We accept payment in cash, by cheque or by a preauthorized bank withdrawal. Each month, we will issue a statement for the previous month and an invoice for the coming month that is payable the first day of each month.
The amount of the monthly contribution is set by the government according to the financial information provided. To request exemption from payment, a resident must present complete financial documentation directly to the RAMQ, including his/her bank statements and investments.
If required, financial services offer a trust account service to assist the resident in his/her financial transactions such as receiving income, or paying for telephone, cable, hairdressing services and other personal expenses.
