Resident care

"To be known and recognised as an organisation centered on the evolving needs of the residents it welcomes."

The vision of the Nursing Department places the residents and his relatives at the heart of its preoccupations and decisions.

  • It ensures to adapt its actions to the specific needs of each resident and sets on a provision of care and services of great quality, supported by existing best practices.
  • It creates, for its personnel, an environment conducive to learning, favoring clinical excellence by the adoption of innovating intervention strategies, based on probing facts.
  • It collaborates with its partners, internal and external, in order to ensure that each resident can benefit of all services required by his condition.

The GDECC: a home environment or a nursing environment

Most certainly both!

Though the establishment wishes to be first and foremost the residents’ home, it would be utopian to deny that it is also a nursing environment.

The daily challenge is to find a perfect balance between both: offer the resident the care required by his condition, in the respect of his life habits and his right to self-determination. It’s by working as a team with the resident and his relatives that the GDECC staff manages it.

By defining with the staff where, when and how the care will be delivered, the resident can also take advantage of his everyday life and benefit from the other services offered in the establishment, if he so wishes.

A nursing environment integrated to the home environment of the resident, this is what defines the GDECC!
